Born in 2664CS on Borega IV in the Yessika System, Duro Coridan began his life amidst utter chaos due to the annihilation of his homeworld. When the Yessika System's twin suns merged, violent energy bursts fractured the surface and rendered the once-serene grasslands uninhabitable. In the midst of this destruction, a miracle occurred: Duro and his brothers, Loq, Nel, and Aved, were born as quadruplets,a rare event for the Borrling species, which struggled with low birth rates. Their miraculous survival caught the attention of eccentric collector Byrn San Vu, who saw the younglings as treasures.

The siblings were acquired by San Vu and relocated to the Katahest estate. Raised as private security for their new master, Duro and his brothers became formidable warriors. Duro, the eldest, was the strategic leader; Nel possessed unmatched agility; Loq boasted immense strength; and Aved mastered stealth. They were an unstoppable force, dedicated to protecting the estate.

The brothers' tenure as guardians ended abruptly when a hostile aggressor known as Skolriff the Descender invaded Katahest. The resulting conflict decimated the grounds, claiming the lives of Byrn San Vu, Loq, and Aved. With another home lost and their family shattered, Duro and his surviving brother, Nel, parted ways. Duro sought refuge with the Hypatonius Divine, enlisting in the Lightvire Fleet. Operating as a Pilgrim of Hypatonius, he traveled the Federation Spaceway, preaching the doctrine of birth and oblivion. His survival of two separate planetary catastrophes, combined with his open expression of faith, earned him the title "The Deacon."

During his missions, Duro’s exceptional combat prowess and reverence caught the attention of Sorin Azar, the "Herald of Hypatonius," and his grandfather, Grand Pontiff Torug Azar. Sorin, recognizing Duro as a powerful symbol of hope, invited him to join a mission aboard the Galacticana in 2772CS to compete against the strongest fighters in the Federation Spaceway. Together with Terok Jahr, the "Righteous Redeemer," they formed the team known as The Faith. With their goal to not only win but, to validate the teachings of Hypatonius.
