The Blighted Gospel is a malevolent faith centered on the worship of The Blight, three immensely powerful entities who once resided in the Federation Spaceway. These beings, known as Fuamudd, Thandra, and Persedora, are vast, sentient collections of raw emotions and energies. The religion, led by a preacher named Zephriko Elrid, presents a fundamental and eternal threat to all sentient species, promising power and liberation but ultimately delivering only damnation and servitude. To follow the Blighted Gospel is to seek authority, enlightenment, and chaos, trading one's soul for temporary power and an eternity as a slave to the desires of the faith.
The objects of worship in the Blighted Gospel are three distinct entities who together form The Blight, a force of cosmic destruction that emerged from the void when the stars were young. Though their origins are a mystery, they became known as the deities of Authority, Enlightenment, and Chaos.
Fuamudd, Deity of Authority Fuamudd is the embodiment of raw authority and divine power, with a physique that appears sculpted from the fabric of the cosmos. His red eyes burn with a relentless fire, reflecting his drive to dominate through force. In battle, he wore the Scarlet Shroud of Authority, a ruby-hued helmet with a surface like shifting molten lava, symbolizing his unmatched might. His followers consist of berserkers, gladiators, and warriors consumed by insatiable violence, with his mortal champions capable of single-handedly turning the tide of battles through sheer ferocity. Fuamudd's legions are feared across the Federation Spaceway as manifestations of pure rage.
Thandra, Deity of Enlightenment Serene and ethereal, Thandra represents the calm before the storm. Ageless, with shimmering silver hair and eyes holding the wisdom of eons, she wields her intellect with the precision of a blade. Her power comes not from brute strength, but from the Jade Mask of Enlightenment, which grants unparalleled clarity of thought. She was a methodical and precise combatant, targeting the weak points of her opponents with surgical accuracy, knowing the mind is the ultimate weapon. Her followers are cunning schemers and ambitious leaders who seek control over their own destinies. They are often marked by physical mutations, which they view as blessings from Thandra, and her most devoted servants are rumored to perceive the past, present, and future.
Persedora, Deity of Chaos The embodiment of chaos, Persedora is a nightmarish figure clad in jagged, sapphire-like armor that seems to grow from his being. His malevolent, glowing blue eyes strike terror into the hearts of the bravest warriors. He is crowned by the Midnight Helm of Chaos, a sapphire helmet reflecting his inner disorder. Persedora thrives on the unpredictability of battle, acting as a whirlwind of destruction that sows confusion and despair. His followers are thrill-seekers who have lost themselves in the pursuit of sensation. They are often graceful and unnervingly violent, their souls given over to monstrous self-indulgence. Alluring and unpredictable, they delight in unraveling their victims' deepest secrets and desires.
Long ago, The Blight traveled the Federation Spaceway, challenging the strongest warriors on worthy planets to hand-to-hand combat. They were consistently victorious, leaving massive craters with their Titan Dreadnought Warship as a warning of their power. Their reign of terror ended when a coalition of planets, outposts, and pirate fleets united against them. Led by High Sovereign Valcoren of Eryndor, whose son fell to Fuamudd, the coalition targeted The Blight's warship. During an assault on their next target, the coalition swarmed the dreadnought. A commander named Lepnu sacrificed herself by ramming her starship into the dreadnought's shields, allowing for a full-scale attack that led to the ship's reactor destabilizing and exploding. No trace of Fuamudd, Thandra, or Persedora were found in the aftermath. Their legendary masks, the Scarlet Shroud of Authority, the Jade Mask of Enlightenment, and the Midnight Helm of Chaos, were recovered but vanished without a trace.
Later, a preacher named Zephriko the Black became obsessed with the legend. After a long search, he claimed to have found the three legendary masks. To reawaken the power of The Blight, Zephriko chose three pupils to wear them, with each embodying an aspect of the ancient deities and competing in the Galacticana. Hellsa Bellsa donned the Scarlet Shroud, Quaotik wore the Jade Mask, and Psyro took the Midnight Helm.
