The origins of the Sunweaver Pilgrimage trace back to the story of Cyphar, a celestial entity that crash-landed on the desolate planet of Thyferra. The planet’s ecosystems had been devastated by a pirate fleet known as Hirik’s Havoc Squad. The native Thyferrans discovered the injured and near-death Cyphar and nursed it back to health. In a display of deep gratitude, Cyphar unleashed a radiant aura from its chest, transforming the degraded soil into fertile earth and cleansing the waters, restoring the planet's vitality and ensuring the prosperity of its inhabitants.

As trust grew between them, Cyphar revealed that it was part of a cosmic commune, cast adrift when a nearby star collapsed into a black hole, flinging it through a slipstream. Moved by this tale and Cyphar's benevolent power, the Thyferrans began to worship the being, naming it Cyphar the Supreme. They implored Cyphar to save other ravaged planets within the Sunstride System. Answering their plea, Cyphar journeyed to the neighboring planets of Valli, Teva, and Gaim, restoring each with its life-giving energy.

Many cycles later, a cataclysm threatened the entire Sunstride System. To protect the planets it had healed, Cyphar made the ultimate sacrifice, believed to have merged its own energy with the system's suns. Cyphar’s physical form was entrusted to the planet Valli, which the Vallians now consider blessed by this final, selfless act. In honor of this gift, the Vallians established the Sunweaver Pilgrimage, a journey for any who wish to embody Cyphar’s virtues of resilience, unity, and compassion.

The heart of the Sunweaver Pilgrimage is its journey through the one hundred Sunweaver Temples scattered across Valli's varied landscapes.
